Will it be worth it...

...if just a few thousand cross the Tiber? How about if just a few hundred? How about if just a few dozen?

Best comment I've read concerning the Apostolic Constitution, of the Israelites who were in the Exodus and crossed the Red Sea and experienced God's miracles in the desert, only two made it into the Promised Land, Joshua and Caleb. God seemed to think it was worth it.

What is success in God's eyes? I'm reminded of the parable of the Lost Sheep...of the Shepherd leaving the Ninety-nine in search of the one....and on finding him, placing him on his shoulders and carrying him home.

Ah, isn't that what Pope Benedict's pallium symbolizes?

Argent, yes indeed, as you quote from Luke 15:
"I say to you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven upon one sinner that doth penance, more than upon ninety-nine just who need not penance."
