Lourdes

The verse that kept running through my head while within the Sanctuary: This is the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our eyes (Psalm 118:23). Click on the pictures for a higher resolution.

Going into the Grotto

Inside the Grotto

There's a place of contemplation in front of the Grotto where we spent a long period of time praying for all the intentions that people sent us. A group of French children were softly reciting the Rosary. The sun was shining brightly.

A closer view of the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes

The Grotto from across the river. We were there at low season as you can see by the sparse crowd.

The Basilica from across the river on one of the meditation walks exploring the symbolism of water in Scripture.

From the porch looking out into the town. I simply loved the giant crown and cross.
