In the pierced heart of the Crucified, God's own heart is opened up--here we see who God is and what he is like. Heaven is no longer locked up. God has stepped out of hiddenness.
~Pope Benedict XVI
What stunningly beautiful pictures of the holy Mass -- all the more stunning because of the simplicity of the photos. No camera trickery, just an honest portrait of the events. And how simple the altar -- very beautiful and tasteful, but no baroque, no rococo. The power of the Mass is not in its surroundings, but in its very nature. And when celebrated well (in either the extraordinary form or the ordinary form of the Roman rite) it is impossible not to be caught up in the liturgy. These photos are evidence of that. Thank you so much for posting them.
