...via Fr. Finigan at the Hermeneutic of Continuity. House of Commons, in the second reading of the "monster bill", votes overwhelmingly to support in principle the creation of hybrids, cybrids (cytoplasmic hybrid) and creation of embryos for scientific research. A smashing quote:
I take an empiricist, pragmatic, instrumental view, rather than the view that some abstract principle should inveigh against the possibility that such research should be allowed or extended.
Oh, those trifling and absurd abstract principles. Can't have them interfering in humanity's progress. Well, Moloch is happy tonight.
