Ad orientem?

~Edmund sent me the notice on our diocesan website. He asked, "Did Bishop Burbidge celebrate ad orientem?
Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge, Bishop of Raleigh, celebrated Mass on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception at Immaculate Conception Church in Halifax, NC. Msgr. Gerald R. Lewis, Diocesan Archivist, and Fr. Michael Butler, Pastor of St. John the Baptist Parish in Roanoke Rapids, NC, concelebrated. In his homily, Bishop Burbidge quoted St. John of the Cross, who urged Catholics to “shelter Mary in your hearts,” and to imitate her example of faith and obedience to the Lord’s call.

It sure looks it.
Father Parkerson should be quite happy.
Is that the top of an altar railing I see there?
And can someone tell me why this beautiful church is only used a couple of times per year?
Is there not an Papal Ordinance that commands that all consecrated Catholic Churches have to have at least one Holy Mass offered a week.
Lets get the Tridentine Mass going there.
God bless our Ordinary.
