Joy of Spring

The Japanese maple is unfurling its lacy ferny leaves. The contrast between the cerulean blue sky and the carmine red leaves was stunning yesterday at the noon hour.

My favorite corner to meditate. This is where I sit and read a book or pray and sip mint juleps. The mourning doves nest above in the live oak tree, and in the heat of summer, hummingbirds divebomb and drive away all the other birds.

Tabor azalea with its tiger-lily colors and spots.

Carolina sweetshrub filling the air with its fragrance of crushed strawberries.
